The boating season is upon us and now is the time to get your moorings inspected. Make sure you spend your time leisurely on the water, not on the reefs.

Moorings can deteriorate very quickly through corrosion and abrasion, and severe weather can move them out of position. Mooring licence holders are obliged to maintain their moorings in the DGPS obtained position.
The Department of Transport strongly recommends the following:
- Use an approved mooring contractor. Kailis Marine is the Rottnest Island Authority approved contractor;
- Use only quality equipment; and
- Service and inspect annually.
Kailis Marine provides professional mooring inspections and if required can repair and maintain your mooring. Simply provide us with your mooring location and leave the rest to us. We will check out your mooring and report back to you. If you need work carried out we can just as easily fix the problem or you can arrange alternative repairs. We can arrange your inspection at Rottnest or anywhere along the coast from Mindarie to Mandurah.
Remember with moorings, if you do not maintain them, it is not a matter of if but when your mooring will fail. So keep your summer happy and get your mooring inspected.
